Biochemistry, 6th edition, by Berg, Tymoczko, and Stryer (2007) |
Exams: Three one-hour exams will be given on the dates indicated on the course
schedule. Each exam will be worth 100
points. The final exam will be worth 150 points. It will cover material from the entire
course. You will need a calculator for the exams. Graphing calculators are
NOT allowed.
Make-up
exams: a valid excuse from your dean is required for a make-up exam. Anyone with an unexcused absence from an exam
will receive a grade of zero for that exam.
Problem Sets: 6 problem sets will be given during classes in the course of the semester. You will be allowed to work on these and hand them in during class. They will be worth 5 points each. Please bring paper and a calculator to every class so that you will be prepared for the problem sets.
A
take-home problem set worth 20 points will be handed out
at mid-semester. It will ask questions
about an article from a biochemical journal.
