The folllowing is a list of topics covered in general biology. For each topic, a list of core concepts/learning objectives has been identified based on input from faculty in the department. In addition, set of in-class learning objectives is accompanied by a list of out-of-class student learning objectives and a vocabulary list.
This resource is meant to aid instructors teaching general (Biol1201 and 1202) and introductory (1001 and 1002) biology when deciding which concepts to cover in class. This resource also provides some examples of active learning activities that could be used to present the concepts in class.
