Corin
Schowalter, Robert Strongin, Chemistry Design and Synthesis of New Chromogenic Receptors for Visual
Detection of Amino Acids and Saccharides
We have shown that the color observed in our receptors is due
to traces of amino acids and saccharides. Fluoresceine thiazolidines,
Schiff bases and inclusion complexes, formed in buffer solution,
promote the detection of analytes at long wavelength (500 nm
or higher) in a concentration range 10-4-10-6 M.
