We have used a star chart in which thirteenth century astronomers depicted the constellation Cancer as a crayfish on this invitation for you as a prospective graduate student to join us at LSU. . The Department of Biological Sciences at Louisiana State University has been chosen one of seven university departments to receive special enhancement funds over the next decade. One immediate enhancement has been to dramatically increase our graduate stipends for incoming students. The range of support at the enhanced level for Ph.D. study is now $14,750 to $22,750, depending upon qualifications. Support comes as graduate and research assistantships and prestigious Board of Regents' Fellowships.
