The SMC is a LSU cost center administered through the Department of Biological Sciences and the College of Basic Sciences. It is located in LSB rooms 24, 25, 27, 30, and 31 and currently employs 3 research associates to assist users with microscopy and imaging projects.

The Leica confocal has been repaired. The power supply for the red HeNe laser was replaced.

A Zeiss SteREO Lumar.V12 fluorescence stereomicroscope has been added to our facility thanks to the donations of many individual PIs, the SMC, the Department of Biological Sciences, and the College of Basic Sciences. THANKS! Come on by and see it in room 25 and contact Matt Brown for a training session.

Renovations of the old darkroom in room 27 are complete! The Nikon compound microscope and the Leica stereomicroscope have been moved into this room.
